Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten Program & Curriculum Information

Sunshine School’s unique preschool program incorporates a multiple room rotation into its schedule, offering a variety of spaces and activities throughout the day for children potty trained to pre-kindergarten. Each room is designed for a particular emphasis of the curriculum. Throughout the rotation each teacher stays with his/her own students and has plans and lessons developed just for them. The curriculum areas emphasized in the different rooms are as follows:

Conceptual Learning: Colors, numbers, shapes, letters, sizes, texture, and science to name a few!

Arts and Crafts: Explorations of mediums and skills. We love art!

Dramatic Play: Dress-up, role play, character development, and life skills. There’s always something new!

Large and Small Group Times and Activities: Stories, music, Bible lessons, special events, guest speakers, and more!

Playground and Gym: Our playground and gym are great for large motor skill development.

The Preschool Program runs from 8:45a.m. – 12:45p.m. with extended care from 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. The afternoon extended care activities coordinate with the morning programming.

According to our state licensing requirements, all preschool children are required a nap/rest time each afternoon from 1:00p.m. – 3:00p.m.
